At Mobile Wash Xpress, we follow a step-by-step deck maintenance procedure.
1. Preparation
If the use of a heavy duty cleaner is required, our crew will cover all your plants and flowers with tarps. The heavy duty cleaner is a necessary application if an old sealer is being stripped off the wood. No preparation is required when a mild cleaner is used.
2. Wood Cleaning and Sealing
- Application of cleaner
- A 2-gallon pump sprayer, filled with the appropriate formulation of cleaner, is attached to our Deckster machine and is applied liberally to the wood.
- Pressure washing
- After the cleaner sets for an appropriate amount of time, the wood is thoroughly pressure washed with our low-pressure tip using 800 psi or less. 100% of all weathering will be removed from the wood.
- Clean-up
- Any debris (mulch, grass, etc.) that may have washed up on to any siding or windows is pressure washed off.
- Application of conditioner
- A 2-gallon pump up sprayer, filled with the appropriate formulation of conditioner, is attached to the Deckster machine and is liberally applied to the wood. The conditioner penetrates the wood and brightens the appearance of the wood. This step restores the natural beauty of the wood, as well as neutralizes the previously used cleaner.
- Wood sealing
- This step is scheduled for a later date to allow the wood to dry completely. The staining or sealing step is normally completed within 1 week of the first visit, weather permitting. This also gives us time to order your stain choice!
One liberally applied coat of Ready Seal is applied to the wood with a low-pressure sprayer to preserve its renewed condition. A sprayer will not be used within 3 feet of the house's siding, or on very windy days.
